When THE BOSS calls ...

I got "on the bus" with Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band in 1974, and he has never failed to deliver the 10 or so times I've seen him over the years.  And on a recent Monday evening he came through again -- this time with a leaner, meaner 2 hour show.  What I love is that he has such a wide range of emotional punches he can throw, even on new material -- anger, frustration, irony, hope, joy, triumph, FUN -- sometimes all in one song.  And with an encore of Thunder Road into Born to Run -- is that worth the price of admission alone, or what?  When The Boss calls, you'd better get down to his office!!!

The set list says it all ...

In case you think Phil Lesh and Friends are resting on their laurels, guess again:

10/05/07 (Fri)  Riviera Theater - Chicago, IL
Set 1: Deal, Mississippi 1/2 Step, Deep Elem Blues, Loose Lucy, When You're Walking Away, Cumberland Blues, Tell Me Baby, Cold Rain & Snow

Set 2: Cosmic Charlie, Chinacat Sunflower, Eyes Of The World, St. Stephen, Millenium Jam, Mountains Of The Moon, Midnight Rider, I Know You Rider, Golden Road, Sugar Magnolia, E: Tom Thumbs Blues

A SMOKIN' show, trust me!

There was no joy in Cubville -- those loser Cubbies have chumped out ...

They went down without a whimper -- show me some competitive fire, dammmitt!!!

Why wasn't that leadoff hitter put on his ASS in his 2nd at bat on Saturday???

Lou Piniella is Dusty Baker without a toothpick, ferchrissakes!!!

What a bunch of WIMPS.

(Don't worry -- I'll be over it by the time pitchers and catchers report ...)
